We just got our WD-65734 in, and I will have it set up in about an hour. I'm gonna hook up a PS3 and test that the tv runs 1080p thru the video circuits. Anyone else have a question that you want to know about?

I see that you are a linux junkie... did you trie to hooking your linux to the TV yet? HTMLSpinnr 06-08-07, 02:41 PM I see that you are a linux junkie... did you trie to hooking your linux to the TV yet? No. I did hook up my PC while running Vista Ultimate to see how MCE would look on it via component cables. I think I've been waiting for the right time to build a MythTV type machine - I already have a Cox DVR and don't have much motivation to replace with something homegrown. The wife to $$$ factor would also be a hard sell. Perhaps if I was able to get a Combo HD-DVD/BD-ROM type drive for a HTPC, plus gobs of storage for ripped DVD's (more kid friendly), then it might make more sense. Tom Thomas 07-20-07, 02:37 PM I am asking for help in setting up my xx831 which is similar to the 734. I'd like the TV speakers to be off when I switch to an input that uses AVR for sound, ie., DVD. I have set up the AVR in NetCommand and have chosen it for the DVD player. When I switch input to DVD I ALWAYS have to push AUDIO and choose the AVR or the TV speakers stay on. Is there anyway to keep the AVR selected for an particular input? I had a xx725 and it worked this way with no problems. |
