I have a Scientific Atlanta 4200HD that has DVI out. Right now I have a Sony 50" that only has HDMI in and so I have a small converter plug that goes from DVI>HDMI. I would like to hook it up to 2 displays at the same time. I have a 50" Sony Rear PJ LCD and a Westinghouse 37" LCD. The sony only has HDMI and the Westinghouse has HDMI and 2 dvi inputs one of which I will be using for pc input. Is it possible to split the dvi and watch HD on 2 sources at once? IF not who makes a good cheap switch? The Westinghouse is about 25 feet from the 4200HD box.

Because of HDCP you need some sort of "smart box" that takes the signal and maintains two separate connections to the 2 displays. I believe there are "boxes" that do this. Check Geffen for products. Even without HDCP involved you need smarts. DVI and HDMI are "point to point" links.

That looks like what you want.

Maybe I just should get another cable box for an additional $10 a month...
If I do go with a Gefen, would DVI or HDMI be better suited? My Westinghouse is 25 feet from the switcher.
