I bought the Mitsubishi 52631 DLP with stand at Costco...just couldn't pass up the deal. This set is for our more casual viewing, and we have a nice Mits CRT 65" that's been calibrated for our serious viewing with the Big Rig audio setup.

I like a lot of things about the 52631, but the fan or wheel noise is a tad annoying during quiet passages. I've been searching the forums, but I haven't found much talk about this. Anyone have any work-arounds?

All non-LED DLPs have some fan noise and some color wheel noise. If it's slight during quiet passages, that's normal. If it's loud all the time it's not normal.

That TV has a volume control. Try turning it up.

Thanks for a totally useless response. I specifically mentioned the issue being during quiet passages.

Yes, it's slight. I've had a 65" CRT for the last 6 years, so it takes a little getting used too. Knowing how creative most tweakers are, I thought maybe there's some trick out there (other than building a mechanically ventilated sound tunnel around the rear of the DLP ;) ) I hadn't heard of.

Then dont put your TV in a quite passage. Use a regualar living room.
