have just got myself a secondhand philips ftr9965 plugged into my lcd pc moniter and get a picture but moniter displays UNKNOWN MODE if i use on my panasonic 42 tv which handles 720p and 1080i will i damage my tv in trying it as a lot of people on this forem have said that these unit are only ment to be used with philips tvs

not to worry went ahead and tried it and it works and i used someones ideal in another thread to short pins to get service mode to standalone, but whats the advantage of using this ebox on my hd tv with plenty of inputs anyway does it upscale? the only hd source i have is a xbox 360 (component) thanks
p.s. also my picture through the ebox is stretched and im not getting the top and bottom of the picture
