Can anyone shed some light on these 2 digital cameras for me? I am looking to buy either of these cameras and I am having trouble deciding.

Thanx in advance =)

stevesforums.com is usually a good place for digital camara info, but for some reason it's not working now...you might try it later.

I know nothing about the Sony. My wife and I use Canons quite a bit. In Europe last year we used a 620 and it was pretty good. The only downsides were the lack of Image Stabilization and a wider angle lens. The 800IS has Optical Image Stabilization and a very good wide angle lens. (Hard to find wide angle on these compact cameras - of course it is a zoom as well) It is an excellent camera for shooting spontaneously.
I have a Canon S3IS and I love it. I do wish it were smaller sometimes. The 800IS is smaller and it is the camera we are going to get next. The S3IS is still the camera I want to shoot with most often, but the 800IS will slip nicely into a shirt pocket.
