Hey everybody,

I am planning on completing my HT setup for gaming and movie watching within next 3-5 months. I have a PS3, Xbox 360 w/HD-DVD, Wii, Onkyo 7.1 A/V Receiver, Pelican System selector pro, Monster Surge Conditioner and protector HTS-2000 MKII, and component cables for 360, Wii..

I need to still purchase a new TV stand, HDTV, and HDMI cables for PS3. I hear monoprice is great but am kinda confused which kind to buy. I need it to be HDMI 1.3 compliant and 1080p res.

My main question is picking an HDTV:

These are my two choices:

The only requirements I am looking for is:

-1080p Full HD
-Game Mode( no lag for GHII, DDR, older consoles, etc..)
-10,000:1 contrast ratio or higher
-1080p via HDMI and component (Xbox360, PS3)
- Screen size 40"-60"cannot afford or have projector wall space of 100"+

both are DLP due to cost efficiency and large screen size

My budget cannot exceed $2500 for HDTV

50" Samsung DLP 1080p HL-S5087W - 2006 models

56" Samsung DLP 1080p HL-S5687W- 2006 models

OR

Samsung HLT5087S 50" Slim LED Engine 1080p DLP HDTV - 2007 models

Samsung HLT5687S 56" Slim LED Engine 1080p DLP HDTV - 2007 models

If anyone has any other models/technologies such as SXRD, LCD, no plasma (burn-in) to suggest it will help in my search for the perfect HDTV..

Thanks again everyone for all sugestions, advice, tips, etc..

I am leaning towards LED DLP based model due to cost efficiency with no bulb replacements and color wheel..

If anyone wants pics of my current setup minus the HDTV i can do that as well if anyone is interested..

Also if anyone owns the LED based models and can review how well gaming plays/looks in terms of pic quality, detail, etc. and lag would be greatly appreciated or the HLS5087W/5687W for same

I have a Sony KDS60A2000. It has game mode, 60", SXRD, etc.

One thing:

you will get lag on older consoles. Deal with it. The scaler alone adds lag.
