I have been going crazy searching for a plasma TV stand that will fit my center channel speaker and my receiver.

My speaker is 26" wide x 9" high x 10" deep, and my receiver is 18" wide x 8" high x 18" deep.

Ideally the stand will be ~60 inches wide and allow me to throw a bunch of other components in there, but those two are the only oversized ones. Of course the center channel would need to be centered directly under the top of the stand...

Has anyone come across anything that can fit those two components?

Thanks in advance for any help- my wife and I have been been searching online and have found nothing yet!

My wife and I went through much the same dilemma before we decided to go with a front projector. The choices out there for TV stands that allow you to place a decent sized center channel are really limited.

If you're willing to spend the money on a stand that is furniture grade, then I would take a look at Salamander Designs (http://www.salamanderdesigns.com/products/av.jsp).

They may have some options that would work for you. We own a tower equipment rack from their Synergy series. We were impressed with the quality and are considering buying a credenza style piece as a liquor cabinet/bar. Since the Synergy system is modular and the shelves adjustable, you can pretty much accomodate any type of equipment you want.

Here are some examples I found back when I was considering a Plasma or RPTV.

I looked into salamander a bit- none of the pre-made ones appear to have a large enough center channel shelf, but you can customize one that is the correct size. It does cost some bucks, though...

Anyone else have any ideas?

Thanks!

None of the Salamander stuff is pre-made... it's all to order.

Here's a pic of what we had thought about going with...

That's a Tripple 20 (65in wide) with a 8in high riser on it. The risers also come in 10, 11, and 12in heights. It might not be the style or price range you're after but functionally it would work for your center channel.

As I said, we decided to go with a Front Projector, but we did have to purchase a "temporary" TV stand. Since we didn't want to spend a lot of money on it but it still needed to be strong enough to hold several hundreed pounds of equipment we were in a bit of a bind. Imagine our surprise when we found that for around $30 we were able to get this at Best Buy:

If you're looking for a cheap solution, you could place your center channel speaker on it and then buy a seperate equipment tower to hold the rest of your gear.

www.roomandboard.com has some very well made entertainment units. While they are not cheap, they are worth the price.

I ended up putting in an order for a salamander system. I like that you can change and add to them as you need to, so got a sort of bare bones system that will hold my equipment and center channel that I can add doors and whatnot to later if we decide we want to (and have the extra cash).

My local distributer is selling me the pieces I wanted at a discount from the online prices, so although it is pricey furniture, it isn't as bad as I thought it would be. And it should look good...

I will post a picture when I eventually get things set up and my new TV comes in (ordering a PDP-5080HD today!)

Thanks for the advice!
