does this device simply tells u how to adjust ur tv display settings or does it actually tell you what to set in the service menu. how much difference will using this device be versus just a calibration disc like Avia? and is the difference worth $180?

wish they'd come out with a device at $180 or lower for both tv and monitors.

Greetings

The device in conjunction with your computer and DVD player tell you where to set the user controls like brightness, contrast, color, and tint. It also tells you which of the color temp presets on the tV is the best one to use.

It will not do anything in the service menu and it will not do grayscale per se.

The product is marketed to people that do not want to invest the small amount of time to learn how to use test discs like AVIA, DVE, getgray, Monster ISF ... and so forth.

If you invest the time ... you will get better results for less money. But at the cost of your time.
