For some reason, the settings on my TV keep going haywire (volume, contrast, brightness, etc. goes to max setting). Sometimes, it happens while in use, most of the time when the TV is turned on the first time the next day. I have tried many things - reset, unplugging overnite, change cables/inputs/sources, etc. but the problem keeps coming back.

The set's been repaired twice (by the same tech). First was the main board (signal board?) which he "fixed", not replaced. When I got the TV back, the convergence went after one day. Apparently, the coolant leaked, and messed up the convergence board. He blamed the problem on damage during the trip back to my house. This time, he replaced the convergence board with a "refurb" board.

I've already spent over $800 on the repairs, plus the expense and hassle of lugging a 300# behemoth to his shop. The guy will only do repairs in his shop.

My question is, should I continue to dump money on this thing? To me, the tech should be fixing the TV for free, since it was never really fixed in the first place. The volume problem came up initially after the main board repair. It just never got proper attention due to the convergence issue.
