Any opinions of what the best type of table is? Alot of people favor Tornadoes.... I happen to like Dynamo's quite a bit myself....

Tornado Tables are simply the best out there. I have had mine for about 10 years.

If you have small children around, look for the euro tables with telescoping rods. The are much safer, hate to see a lost eye.
I have a Rene Pierre table and enjoy the style and peace of mind. Garlando also makes these telescoping rod tables and are more affordable.
For home use the telescoping are so much safer.

I doubt that the Opus is appreciated by any real foosball table fan. the players foot has to be a block shaped and not real feet like, as you will have less controll over the football.

I searched the net for a couple of minutes for someone who has actually played one of these, but came up empty... if you have actually played one these and are basing your opnion on experience I'd love to hear more about this game, if you are just guessing that the feet will give you less control that's fine too, I'm of the opnion they may offer a different experience, but less control I don't agree.

If I had the room I would grab one. I love this game! :)

We bought the tornado tournament level machine. It was expensive, but it's very heavy duty and plays just like the ones I remember from college. The one I bought is the same as a bar machine, but without the coin mechanism. Highly recommended if the budget will allow.

I prefer the "power" tables like the Tornado to the "finesse" tables like the Pierre.

I agree and would recommend that anyone looking for a nice table look at the Tornado tables.

I recently moved to a smaller place to be closer to work and don't currently have enough room setup my table. :mad:

I would recommend a Performance Game Foosball Table. I have one and I love it. Also it is not as pricy as a Tornado, but its is a very good quality as the Tornado.

Chiming in late, but I picked up a Tornado Cyclone II home version (non coin-op) several years ago, although it's not going in the theater room anytime soon, it's fun!!!

Why would anyone put arcade games in a theater room?? How can you play in the dark when everyone else is watching the 10 ft screen?? LOL!

We have been buying, playing then selling or trading arcade and pinball games for our home for about 33 years and our looooooooong term experience is ONLY BUY COMMERCIAL GRADE games - period.

BTW - our kids started playing arcade games standing on boxes at around three years old - properly supervised they won't lose an eye!

Foos - the consumer tables - like the ones at Sam's Club - look really spiffy but they are cheaply made and can't compare with the real thing.

Our advice is get to know the coin-op game Operators in your area. Go see them, meet the owners and with genuine interest you will develop a relationship that will pay off. We bought our Tournament Tornado coin-op foos at least 10 years ago from an operator in a package with af few pins and we paid $300 for the foos and after hard use by our kids and their friends (and we old folk play too) the game looks as good as it did when we bought it. Moving it around can be interesting - feels like it weighs a ton but probably around 300 lbs - you can solve that by buying a game lift table or dolly.

I tinkered with the coin assembly and adjusted it for free play but it's a nice arcade touch to have to push in the coin plunger and have the balls release.

Anyhow consider our advice and whether buying foos or video or pin BUY COIN-OP quality - they are made to take heavy commercial use and keep on going!!

They sell them all over the place..... or go to one of the regional tournaments and pick one up REALLY cheap.... I think there is a tournament around Columbus, and the Kentucky tournament too (which happened a few months ago, so you missed out )

If you can't find one (but you should be able to) they are all over the internet.... shipping is steep because they weigh so much..... I think going to one of the tournaments would be your best bet though.

Also, keep an eye on craigslist.

Yea, I got 1 whirlwind and 1 cyclone, and prefer the cyclone.

For another tip, use www.craigshelper.com to search multiple craiglists locations. Its worth driving 100 miles or so for a good deal.
