I'm about to buy a Panasonic DMC-TZ3 digital camera which can take 7 megapixel pictures in 16:9 format (JPGs on SD memory card). I own a Sanyo PLV-Z5 front projector whose native resolution is 720p (1280 x 720) and has HDMI inputs. I'm trying to figure out a way to be able to take the SD memory card from the camera and display the 16:9 images downconverted from 7 megapixels to 720p 16:9 over HDMI to display on my 16:9 screen.

I'm guessing others with 16:9 format TVs/projectors who have a digital camera that can take 16:9 images would have the same desire and hopefully someone else has crossed this bridge and found a solution?

I contacted Oppo about their upconverting DVD players that have memory card readers but their response is they read the JPG images from memory cards at 640 x 480 then scale them to whatever the desired output format is (e.g., 720p) so that isn't going to give me what I'm after which is the 7 megapixel JPG downconvereted directly to 1280 x 720 and output to my projector.
