What games of the ones listed do you think have the most potential to become AAA titles in 2007 for the PS3?

I like all of the ones that I posted but would like to know other opinions.

How are we supposed to classify games no one has played?

Why the hell are you people rating them as AAA or AA or whatever. I remember that back
in GameSpot and I really hope that most of you people didn't come from that hell hole.
Anyways no on knows how they are, they might look a high rated game from the trailers and
clips but we haven't actually played the game.

i think they all have the potential to be AAA. out of the bunch, NGS probably has the best chance as NG has already been proven to be a great game, but now it looks much better and theres more content.

I don't but obviously you do :p Anyway, I never thought I was going to get so much crap about a simple question.

I'm looking forward to GTA4, and maybe R&C

not really excited about the others

From your list, I'll probably buy

Folklore
Ninja Gaiden Sigma
Lair
Warhawk
Heavenly Sword
Ratchet & Clank : ToD
Uncharted: Drake's Fortune

What defines an AAA title? I'm going to do my best to buy titles I feel rate a 9/10 or higher. If AAA means the "best of the best", I'd say that none of these are that unless I see further evidence to the contrary.

Oh, looking at the options I just realized that I forgot to put Haze up there. I wanna get that one too.

I guess for me a AAA game would be excellent graphics & playability. For others it might be something different, and for some an AAA game might be a game that is a console seller if such thing exist (maybe GoW can be put in tht category).

This is still a weird poll.

What will you do with the information once you know what people think?

Any game to be released in the future has the potential to be a AAA game or a turd.

Another game that I forgot to add was Collin McRae: DiRT. As a rally fan, that one is a must for me.

Im no expert, but I always thought AAA was basically the same as a "blockbuster" movie. That is, it has a huge budget and is supposed to make money. A "blockbuster" or AAA title can still be a bust and be bad and not make money.

Maybe somebody else can google it and come up w/ something different, but thats what I thought it meant.

Money Invested:
AVS Forum: $5,300 USD
HeadFi Forum: $1,350 USD
DJ Forum: $3,200 USDOut of curiosity, WHY would you invest that kind of money in a Forum? And what could it possibly go to???????

Out of that entire list the only flagship title I see is Grand Theft Auto. LAIR is getting the hype the way Motorstorm is, but I think alot of folks are wondering if there is any kind of game there......it looks pretty, and thats pretty much all we know. The world is full of pretty looking games that people play for 3 days and then never touch again.

Warhawk could have been a big deal title, but the only-only component will effectively kill its chances of being a runaway success selling millions and millions of copies unless they price it right.

Devil May Cry 4 may have a shot, it has the potential to be a sleeper hit because the God of War games are PS2 and lack the PS3 visual punch. Ninja Gaiden is of course the defacto 3D action hack and slash game....trouble is, its also yet another remake..its not a new game from the ground up, and that is a big, big problem considering the game is like a triple dip this time around.

I think Ratchet and Clank will be the standout, because its likely going to have incredible visuals and its gong to have that 3D adventure kind of gameplay that tends to sell titles to even fringe players.

GTA 4 will probably be GTA 3 with HD graphics & extra features. I think GTA will fit your description.

Yeah, it'll be fun to run people over in hd, etc etc, but how long will that fun last? Unless they make the missions a lot more engaging than GTA 3 and include good online play, the game will get boring fast. Of course, that's just my opinion.

Well if the initial shots are any indication, it'll be much more interesting to explore the city if its that detailed. Of course, personally, I'm tired of the GTA games. I loved Vice City but really didn't care for any of the others. The first one felt too cramped, and San Andreas felt too big in a "kitchen sick" kind of way. This one makes me wonder if the tried and true GTA formula might be in need of a revamp, although I'm not sure how they'd handle it. Playing angry thugs is getting a little old.

I dont even know how online could work in a game like this....people hop in cars, ram each other, try to do drive bys, endlessly.

Unless you can get into buildings, shoot from windows, etc...and that would require a major revamping of the 3rd person controls.....who knows, guess well know later this year.
