Yes there will be drawbacks to all of them but I think it would be interesting to see lots of ideas on how to help save the planet.

1. Rich governments of the world should buy up rain forests from the likes of Brazil and Indonesia and protect them from illegal and excessive logging.

2. Use compact fluorescent bulbs

Why would brazil sell?

And why would we (the taxpayers) want to spend money to pay to keep the forests from being cut down, which is what Brazil (and its taxpayers) should be doing?

3. We should all stop using our home theaters, because they waste electricity.

Yes, I am being sarcastic.

4. Buy a solar panel system for your home.

It won't save the world but it does wonders for your electric bills. Last year mine was $260 (total).

This has nothing to do with system configurations, think you're [is that better?] in the wrong forums here bud. Try greenpeace.

?? A properly configured HT can save the world.

BTW - That should be "you're".

I'm sorry i spelt a word wrong. That is probably one of the silliest things i have ever heard, a properly configured HT can save the world. How? Can it feed starving children, and bring an end to corrupt government? I know you were trying to make me look like an idiot for pointing out that this thread does not belong in this forum, but i think my point was valid, i come to check out the latests pics and people's systems and i get some tree hugging stuff. Not that i don't appreciate the sentiments, but put it in a forum that covers that particular topic. My 2c.

RUN FOR THE HILLS!!! THE GREENS HAVE INVADED AVSF!!

Seriously, this is a thread for The Democrat Underground, MoveOn or something. Not a thread for "What's Your System Configuration" in an AV forum. And another thing, if changing to compact fluorescent to save a few measly watts of power helps you feel better about all the gazillions of watts your HT uses, that's great, more power to you, just don't think you are saving the planet by doing so. Or try and force me to do so either.

I think winter is too darn cold anyway, so I'm doing my part to produce as much CO2 as possible with my fleet of muscle cars and my giantic BBQ grill. Every year I up my fule consumption pledge. I would also like to invite you to our annual Earth Day Tire Fire as well. I do have some carbon off-sets I would like to sell you if you are interested though.
