After I turn on I will hear a clicking sound in the projector followed by picture becoming extreamly dim. This will repeat this several times before projector turns itself off and then won't restart untill I turn main power off and on again. Unfortunantly after that problem still persists. No light has gone off in lamp or temp. setting either. Anyone?

the lamp may be going out. my lamp would come on and go out.
New unit. Lamp hours say only 97. Projector picture will fade dim for a few seconds before returning to propper brightness making described clicking sound. After doing this for a couple of minutes projector shuts down. Again neither temp or lamp indicator light goes off.

i am not familar with AE1000u. assuming this is still under war. try returning the lamp for a new one, it may be faulty. Do you have a 2 nd lamp?
Try also to reseat the lamp, it may not be seated fully.
any AE1000u owners out there. I am a old plv70 guy.
I took out lamp blew on it, put back in, and projector is now working. Seems odd that it started acting up at 90 some odd hours and since unit has remained stationary all this time. :)
It seems like leaving it off for awile caused problem to restart. I'm calling panassonic tommorow morning
Mine, which I purchased Feb 1, just started doing this too. Please let me know what panasonic tells you.
I called panasonic this morning. They want to repair mine under warranty. They think it is a iris problem. It sounds like this is some what common. What did kind of burn me about this is that I'm supposed to pay for shipping it to them. :-0 I've recently dealt with warranty repairs with Apple and Cannon. They both arranged for and paid for the shipping in both directions. This S&*#s!

PS. Correction mine is a Panasonic AX100U. Maybe this is a family problem.

that bites. sorry to hear the news.
Find out from panasonic if there is a in town panasonic service center. If it is a short drive that might be an alternative. shipping would bother me.
It seems like a bad Iris? I complained to panasonic about having to pay shipping and they agread to e-mail me ups label so now I pay nothing. I suguest you try this too. Although It could be I recieved special tratment because I bought this AE1000u a mere two weeks ago and told them I had the option of simply returning to original vendor. I'm hoping I won't have to live without projector for more than a week while it's serviced.
Good luck it will take at least a week for them to fix it and return it to you....Just be realistic about this.
You cant rush these situations. Customers always want instant gratification but sometimes its un realistic.
At least the Sapranos is over so now theres nothing worht watching on TV except the reruns on A&E lol
It will more then likely work just fine but why add another coupling point in the signal?
The wall plate or just a hole plat pretty much provide the same look on the ceiling. Either way you have a wire to connect to the projector and the other end goign up to or through the ceiling.
Id prefer not havign any splice points in my signal even it it doesent creat any signal loss...just good practice thats all.
I had the same symptoms on my 700u and they had to replace the power supply under warranty.
