Hello, this is my first post on this forum. I just bought a projector (IN72) for occasional use outdoors to show dvds and TV and plan to purchase and permanently install a 50 foot HDMI or Component video cable to run from my equipment inside the house to the projector outside.

In consideration of weather and the elements, will a thick 24 awg HDMI cable or any component cable work for an outdoor home theater setup? Any advice would be helpful. Thanks.

The best signal in, will give you the best picture out.

If you go the component cable route, try here, they are a forum sponsor:

I use HDMI cables with my set up. It just makes it a lot easier. One for the HD DVD player and one for the Blu ray player. Both go into my Onkyo 605 and then of course a HDMI out from there goes into my Sanyo Z5... It is almost like cheating! ;)
