Is it possible? Do any of the current PS2 to PS3 adaptors support it correctly? Is there anyone out there who plays DDR on their PS3? Just curious ... couldn't find any threads on this when I ran a search. Thanks!

The last ddr for the ps2 works. I think it was the update before last that allowed you to use dualshocks with rumble on ps2 games. This update also removed the need to press the "PS" button.

The dance pad now works when used with the radio shack PSX adapter. DDR is fully functional on my PS3.

The update definitely does not remove the need to press the PS button. Me and a friend have been playing an old mortal kombat game for a while now and I have v1.8. Every time the game loads, the little text box appears and says "press the PS button now".

My understanding is that the game works now, but the strum doesn't work properly. I could be wrong. I don't own the game.



I own DDR. I play DDR. (actually, my girlfriend plays...I coach) I can use the PS2 version and the ps2 pad and the PSX adapter to play it on my PS3. I believe this is what this thread is about.

I also play God of War. I do not have to hit the PS button to play it with my ps2 controller.


PS. I just loaded MORTAL COMBAT:Armageddon. Again I don't have to hit the PS button to play it with a ps2 controller. You do understand that that is what we are talking about, right? The ability to use ps2 controllers or pads to play ps2 games on the ps3 is the topic (as it relates to DDR) of this thread. If your using a ps3 controller you might have to hit the "PS" button, but that has NOTHING to do with this thread or conversation.

Does ANYONE know when/if a new DDR is coming out for PS3? With a wireless/USB pad comes out so we don't have to mess with adapters? I haven't heard a peep out of Konami... I would hate it if they didn't release a new version...

I got an adaptor from compusa that will allow ps2 pads to work with ps3. I also can confirm that it works.

Supernova works great with the Pelican adapter. It has a PS button. Told that with GH it works well also, just not GH2. Haven't tried either one of those, just DDR Supernova.

It seems as if your saying DDR doesn't work with an adapter, and then you say it does.

And, I have only tried with DDR supernova. Are you saying that the other DDR's don't work?

My DDR is the original made for the Playstation. It looks like its not any Playstation 2 release. However the adapter I got plays it on the PS3. But I'm not going to buy anymore DDRs for the Playstation 2 just to get it working on the PS3 since theres a new one due out that is native on the PS3.

I tried searching for this info here but I seem to have a hard time with the AVS search engine so I have a question or two about using PS2 games on the PS3

I just am trying to be sure here before I sell my PS2 (and my daughter kills me) I want to be sure that guitar hero and DDR both work with the PS3 and the dance pad and the GH controller will work with the PS3

If I need to get an adapter thats not a big deal as long as it works, just let me know what I need to buy

Thanks. I was not able to find an item with that number on RadioShack's website. Maybe it is discontinued? Can somebody post a picture of the DDR setup with PS3?

This adapter from CompUSA does allow PS2 DDR to work with PS3 because it emulates every button. This is the only adapter that worked for me with the original DDR for PS2 when used on the PS3. It should work for DDR Hottest Party too.

Forget a native PS3 DDR. It was just a rumor that I saw.
