hi everyone

well i finally made the move to HD. I purchased a new optoma hd70 (upgrading from a benq svga machine) and am currently in the process of reading up on getting the best pq out of it. I've so far used their standard cinema settings and did a little bit of calibration with video essentials dvd which kinda is turning out to be lacking for the newer display technologies. I also purchased a 360 external hd-dvd player so i'm primed for watching hd-movies either from my htpc or xbox 360.

was wondering if someone could make a suggestion as to what movie should be my first purchase? King kong is tops on my list, i d/l the hd trailer and am just staggered by the amount of additional detail present. Can anyone tell me if this is the 'standard' length version or does the hd version feature the extended cut with the triceratops and other added scenes.

What other hd movies excel in the pq department and can drop my jaw like the king kong trailer? I was thinking happy feet and the matrix collection but i've noticed some posts with the matrix having bad pq?? A scanner darkly seems to be on everyone's list for pq but i dont know if the movie itself is something you would re-watch many times (reviews seemed to be negative). I was thinking something scfi or cg animated.

thanks for any suggestions.
