It's a pity, as it was a very well made edition.

Thanks Josh. I'd no idea that there even was an existing HD DVD release with special packaging. I'll see if I can do a search for it.

40 Year Old Virgin on HD DVD has some sort of special packaging, as well as a slip case. I don't know how to explain what it does, but it shows him on the cover and then when you pull a strip of paper his shirt turns into his hairy-ass chest. ;)

Yes, as both a film and an HD DVD. I'm not a fan of the chunky-ass packaging on the tin set... but I have the regular version.

If you like sci-fi, you shouldn't be disappointed. It's a bonefide classic.

Crazy, I am both glad and now saddened that I opened mine.

Edit: Though it didn't cost them anything to do it. They charged nearly the same as the DVD version and the packaging was exactly the same cept the cardboard skirt that said HD-DVD and the actually HD-DVD inside.

I remember reading that some people accidentally got the DVD instead with even the HD-DVD sleeve.

I'd call matrix ultimate SE. And matrix trilogy regular.
You could call some of the DC SE as well. As other regions got normal versions.

But I'd say it will be a few years before we see regular and SE discs. IE 30% markup on a 2nd disc you should get anyway
