Nothing earth shattering here but for those interested...

I was in my local MovieStop (part of GameStop chain) today perusing the Blu ray and HD DVD sections and the manager informed me that as of tomorrow, 6/12 they will be having a buy 2 get 1 free on Blu ray only. I did not ask when the sale ended.

He showed me the list that was behind the counter of eligible titles and they appear to be the same titles that Amazon and other online retailers are offering as buy 2 get 1 free. Although there could be other titles since I have not memorized the online lists.

MovieStop new BD prices are somewhere in between Amazon/Walmart and Best Buy. The best deals can be had on used BD, HD DVD and dvd media. Used BD prices are typically less than Amazon and Walmart and they usually have a nice selection in used BD (of course it depends on the day). They clean and shrink wrap used media and guarantee them. You can also trade your good or crappy SD dvds, BD or HD DVDs in for credit towards any purchase. I have cleaned up this way.

I will be in when they open to see what used titles they have so I can get the best deal on the buy 2 get 1 promotion.

This BD promo appears to be expanding.

if the list looks the same as what was on amazon's site, then it's going to be all sony pictures titles. not sure if spanking new titles like Hellboy would be included.

the new prices sucks though. They put a new sticker of $23.99 over the old one of $18.99 on a used stranger than fiction. I just peeled the sticker off and the guy had to sell it to me at 19 ;p
