I think I Might get Aeon Flux

It would be cool if the list was extended a bit but I've had my eye on The Matador and Clerks 2 for a while. I may go ahead and pick those up. With the 10% discount and supersaver shipping that puts me at $16.19 a piece.

Clerks II, Matador, Lucky Number Slevin and Payback are all great movies. I'd pick these up in a heartbeat, especially at these prices, if I didn't already own them!

Hmm... I rented Lucky Number Slevin (another Weinstein title) and it did load in a reasonable time. Is The Matador still problematic?

I think all of these are great films, but to each his own.

I picked up Clerks II & Aeon Flux. Aeon Flux is a guilty pleasure, but so are many titles in my DVD & HD DVD collection.

I thought Aeon Flux was cool, worth owning. I don't understand why people dislike it. It's not like so many other futuristic sci-fi movies that just have laughably corny dialogue, non-sensical effects/story points, or other goofy things (ie. Chronicles of Riddick, Star Wars Ep 1-3). Rather it's a subtle, neatly self-contained piece that seemed to have continous direction and not turn into a bloated mess.

Slevin had nice twist ending and like the darkness of Payback. Still no purchase for me though.

I think I read somewhere that they actually took the film away from director Karyn Kusama, or at any rate she was very disappointed in how it all turned out. I suspect a lot of the disappointment was expressed by people who were fans of the original animated series, like me. Plus, I thought Charlize Theron was miscast as Aeon, but that's probably just me. :p

You're spot on about the current general state of SF on film, though. Unfortunately, with few exceptions, it seems as if this has always been the case.... :( :mad:

darn I knew I shouldn't have bought Clerks II on release day. Ahh it was worth it I guess.

I'm in for Aeon flux. I've not seen it but......what the hell...I'm supporting the format here.

I liked it, but it got bad reviews.

I picked up "The Matador" and "Payback".

Already had some of the others on here. "Pulse" had bad reviews, but I liked that one too. Some cool stuff going on in the background on that one in Dolby TrueHD.

I picked up Aeon Flux - I know, pure eye candy. I already have it on DVD, but it is still in the shrink wrap because I bought it just as I was buying into HD-DVD.

I was considering The Italian Job, but reviews indicate that the transfer is not all that stunning (or the source is not all that stunning), and I'm not that enamored with the movie.

Feast is another I was considering...
