Hey guys I was wondering... is it possible to split the video and audio signal from an HDMi cable? For example, have the HDMi pass the video signal only while passing the audio from another source? The reason that I ask is that my laptop only comes equipped with and HDMI port but my HD front projector, even though it has an HDMI port, can't accept the audio signal because it doesn't have speakers. I don't have a receiver with HDMI in/out. Anyone know what I gotta do to get this working? Is it even possible? Or am I out of luck and need to replace my receiver? any help is greatly appreciated, thanks.

Your system should work just fine directly without any other conversion equipment. If your projector has an HDMI port but no speakers, then it will tell the playback device about its specific capabilities. All HDMI devices are required to support a minimum set of configurations, such as ability to support 2 channel audio (if it has any audio capabilities) or an audio-less DVI mode.
