$19.95 should be the psychological price.

It does appear there have been quite a few price drops. I wonder what's going on (no complaints!)??? Has there been any similar discounting on HD-DVD titles?

Seems so. I just listed the titles featured on an amazon alert.

Thanks for the heads-up. I should be able to get credited for the difference on the Black Rain purchase I made a little less than a month ago, but I personally already have everything I am interested in from the titles mentioned.

Some of these were a part of the Fox 50% Amazon sale a couple months back.

I think the marketing folks in the Blu-ray camp are well aware of the psychological impact websites like "EProduct Wars" and "DVD Empire" have when they show sales results for both formats. I believe they are also tinkering with price to see where that psychological ceiling lies. Everytime there is a promotion like this, I end up adding some titles I otherwise would never have purchased. I guess I love being manipulated.

I noticed Species was $16.99 as well....

Gratuitous naked space alien fu! Without the plot of Space Vampires from Outerspace, aka Lifeforce.

is there a special link for this sale or you just have to go through all the titles to see which ones are on sale ?

I tried providing the direct link but avs is not accepting it.

Go to amazon.com (http://www.amazon.com) and click on the gold chest icon http://ec1.images-amazon.com/images/G/01/goldbox/gb-open-new._V19215892_.gif at the top of the page.

Look for the "Save 40% on HD DVDs and Blu-ray Discs " link.

I hope that works for you.

nopes doesn't work for me. I guess it only works for people who have bought Blu-ray from Amazon in the past.

Maybe it's the fact that even at 40% off they (aside from Paramount) are still more than I'm willing to pay for the things. Especially FOX (Freaking Overpriced eXploiters).

Thanks OP, picked up a few FOX titles. (FOX titles are WAY WAY OVERPRICED even with 40% off, but I am a movie whore so......)

I just asked for the price difference for my orders of Aeon Flux and We Were Soldiers which just shipped yesterday. Nothing else I want unfortunately but nice to see some better prices.

I'm not 100% positive, but doesnt Frys have pretty much the same prices?? Most of those movies at amazon are $23, and most movies at frys are $19.99..... I havent compared title per title - but the prices just seem a bit too high - even with 40% off....

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

I know, I'm lazy :)

Most of those are Fox and MGM. Hopefully, it's some movement by those studios before their returning to the release schedule, but more likely it's Amazon trying to move titles that aren't moving. ;)

The 10% discount through this year still applies to these titles (taken from the discounted price), so you get another $2.30 off the Fox titles if you're signed up for that.

I saw that sale mentioned elsewhere, and tried to find it today. I guess it already expired -- how much did I miss it by??

a few days i believe. that sale was replaced by the 40% off.

however, that sale was exclusive to Sony titles. so you may still be able to find it somewhere since amazon wasn't the only place that had it.
