Just got back from FYE Superstore. Monty Python, Bruce Almighty & Liar Liar are all $15.99 (as have been a lot of new releases the past few weeks). At that price I can live with some imperfection in the transfer (Liar Liar was the first DVD I bought way back in 1998 and that transfer wasn't exactly good, anything probably will be better, I'll look at it tonight). Monty Python I only have on LD and had no Bruce Almighty.

They're also running buy one get one on the used stuff. Had quite a few used ones at the location I visited, I'll be going back tonight to get some more. They'll be roughly $8 each used.

If this is going to be a regular thing (which it appears based on the last few weeks) I'd sign up for the replay card too, save 10% on top of that, they come out to like $14.40. The new release regular DVDs are running about that around here.

I wonder if this is confirmed at all FYE's. I didn't notice any that cheap last week when I was there. The cheapest I saw was 40-yr old Virgin for $19.99. Where are you located?

I'm near Buffalo NY. The pricing only appears to apply to the Superstores, the non superstore in the one mall here charges more. I checked the pricing last week and it was at both Superstore locations (I try to hit up the used titles which are usually only $15.99). 40 Year old Virgin is $19.99 as of today still, though it was $15.99 when it came out. The sale price only appears to last the week of release. Coming to America which was $15.99 last week is now $19.99.

ahh ok, the store I go to isn't a superstore, thanks for the heads up either way. I sometimes find great deals on the used HD's and BD's there. They aren't too careful when it comes to pricing and I make out like a thief paying like $7.99 for a mispriced HD or BD.

My store will pricematch the superstore that is like 20 miles away...only problem is my store carries VERY FEW titles.

Oh well. :(

I was going to buy something from FYE online and was looking for online codes/coupons.

Here is a way to save $3 per dvd in store through 6/30/07. The code is not valid online.

My girlfriend and I went back later in the evening, all in all I ended up with 9 HD DVDs for a total of around $80. About $8.88 a movie. I'd have paid just as much for regular DVDs.

How do I know if a store is a "superstore" or not?

It probably says so on the store itself. The two "Supserstore" locations in this area are both large free standing stores that were former Media Play locations. When the current company bought out the old one from bankruptcy I believe these two locations were still under lease agreements as I don't think they were never put up for lease after Media Play closed. I'd guess about 6 months later they slapped up FYE Superstore signs on the outside and thats what they've been since. Some new signs but for the most part its the same stuff. The FYE in the mall just says FYE For Your Entertainment on the sign. Anyway they're not small scale stores, the one I went to today is bigger than most of the area Best Buys.
