I am moving to a new apartment and have some options for my layout.

Here is a pic of the layout. I paid a architectural firm 2 grand to have it made up.

My question is where should my screen be located? My thinking for sound would be to have it set up on one of the side walls so that the sound would have a back wall to help it out (Location B or C).

A B or C?

Thanks

I'd put a projector screen on wall C. I assume you'd put seating on the B wall. Seems logical to me that it would keep the room feeling open. You could also see the screen when from the kitchen (while cooking). BTW...please tell me you didn't spend 2K on just that make up. Tell me that I'm missing something?

I must be missing something too. For future reference may I recommend Google Sketch-Up? It's free. Sorry I don't have any technical advice.

How is your fireplace positioned? Is it angled into the room or does it shoot down wall A? If it's angled then wall A would be good in my opinion.

Where did you get the components for Google Sketch Up? I've been trying to make a chair in it and it's just not working right.

More info with measurements. I have this model with the screen at the bottom.

There's a 'Get models' button on the SketchUp toolbar. This opens a new window where you can search for a chair. Find one that you like and then import it into your current model.

You don't want your seating flush with the wall for the side/rear surrounds. I'd put the display on wall A.

Are you suggesting to put my rears behind me? I only have them there right now because I dont have room to put them on the sides. They are best to be on the sides of the listener not behind them.

Are you thinking that the rear wall will hurt the surround sound field?

If running a 5.1 setup, you want the surrounds firing at each other, slightly behind your ears.

No (in 5.1)

Are you thinking that the rear wall will hurt the surround sound field?

Yes.

Looking at the diagram you posted, consider what the wall is doing to the surround channel (and reflections from the fronts I suppose). Now imagine a wall behind the seating (see red line).

I am not an expert, but I consistently see advice that you don't want the speakers or the seating flush with the wall if you can avoid it.
