Now then... the major bit of DVD release news today is that Paramount has just revealed a whole mess of great titles for August, September and October. First up, Paramount has set Disturbia for release on 8/1 on DVD, Blu-ray Disc and HD-DVD. Next, the mountain has announced a Face/Off: Special Collector's Edition for release on 9/11 on DVD, Blu-ray Disc and HD-DVD as well (2 discs each!). Following on 9/18 are the Flashdance: Special Collector's Edition, Upright Citizens Brigade: The Complete First Season, Upright Citizens Brigade: The Complete Second Season and Drawn Together: Uncensored! - Season Two, all on DVD. Then on 9/25, Paramount is releasing The Jack Ryan Special Edition Collection box set on both Blu-ray Disc and HD-DVD, which includes The Hunt for Red October, Patriot Games, Clear and Present Danger and The Sum of All Fears! Cool, yes? But no, we're not done yet. Then on 10/2, Paramount will deliver a Funny Face: 50th Anniversary Edition, Top Gun in both Blu-ray Disc and HD-DVD formats, and PBS's long-awaited The War: A Ken Burns Film miniseries! No, I'm not kidding. That's a great line-up of titles right there. If something in that bunch doesn't get your blood pumping, you'd better check your pulse.
Also today, Warner has set The Year Without a Santa Claus: Deluxe Edition for release on 10/2, along with a Christmas Television Favorites box (SRP $39.72) featuring Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas, The Year Without a Santa Claus, Rudolph and Frosty's Christmas in July and Rudolph's Shiny New Year. And on 9/11, look for the Cartoon Network Movie: Re-animated (SRP $14.97).
