Is it true that HD1s have a slightly better warranty service with a 72 hour guaranteed service turnaround or something along that line. I read in one of the reviews that you will have that added peace of mind with the HD1. Don't remember the exact details.

Both the RS-1 and HD-1 have the same 24 month (parts/labor) and 90 day/300 hours bulb warranty. Any statements about 72 hour turn around would, if true, likely be a "policy" as opposed to being legally part of their warranty.

BTW, the JVC people I know have no knowledge of this "guaranteed service," but that doesn't mean you wouldn't actually get that turnaround time. :)

Yeah, my local dealer gave me the low-down on the 72 hour "hot swap" before I bought it. Nice little bonus.

I will need to find it in their warranty paperwork but this was provided to them verbally by JVC, during training, and relayed to me by them (local dealer) before purchase. In Texas, thats all I need. 8)

Magnolia carries the HD1, so yes, you can get both versions in the US.

In the USA the RS1 is pushed through the JVC Pro dealer channel and the HD1 through the JVC Consumer dealer channel.

In the rest of the world the RS1 does not exist. In Europe both JVC Pro and JVC Consumer dealers sell the HD1. However, the Pro dealers only offer a 1 year warranty compared to 3 years (1 Year/1000 hour lamp) offered by the consumer dealer.

a question was asked in one of the other threads listed by rboster regarding if you purchase the rs1/hd1 off the net and voiding of warranty, is there any truth to that?
