View Full Version : RS1/HD1 Differences? rbienstock 06-14-07, 06:12 PM Are there any (besides silver vs. black)? JlgLaw 06-14-07, 06:14 PM .....and the serial numbers are a different format. Those are the only differences. Prakash 06-15-07, 09:31 AM Is it true that HD1s have a slightly better warranty service with a 72 hour guaranteed service turnaround or something along that line. I read in one of the reviews that you will have that added peace of mind with the HD1. Don't remember the exact details. JlgLaw 06-15-07, 12:41 PM Is it true that HD1s have a slightly better warranty service with a 72 hour guaranteed service turnaround or something along that line. I read in one of the reviews that you will have that added peace of mind with the HD1. Don't remember the exact details. Both the RS-1 and HD-1 have the same 24 month (parts/labor) and 90 day/300 hours bulb warranty. Any statements about 72 hour turn around would, if true, likely be a "policy" as opposed to being legally part of their warranty. BTW, the JVC people I know have no knowledge of this "guaranteed service," but that doesn't mean you wouldn't actually get that turnaround time. :) Jim Prakash 06-15-07, 03:52 PM Okay, found the review that stated the 72 hrs. Go to the site and just search for "72". http://www.hometheaterblog.com/hometheater/2007/05/jvc_dlahd1_1080_2.html Catdaddy67 06-15-07, 06:31 PM Yeah, my local dealer gave me the low-down on the 72 hour "hot swap" before I bought it. Nice little bonus. I will need to find it in their warranty paperwork but this was provided to them verbally by JVC, during training, and relayed to me by them (local dealer) before purchase. In Texas, thats all I need. 8) Well, that and my shotgun. 8) JlgLaw 06-15-07, 07:54 PM Okay, found the review that stated the 72 hrs. I don't think this question has come up before. Anyone? ;) btvid 06-18-07, 06:13 PM Is the HD1 available in the US or only the RS1? Prakash 06-18-07, 06:49 PM Magnolia carries the HD1, so yes, you can get both versions in the US. rboster 06-18-07, 10:19 PM Are there any (besides silver vs. black)? If you put "HD1" into advance search, title search only you would have found these threads asking the same question http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=843247 This one is two pages http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=792803 and couple of others http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=834349 http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=818360 dazzerxxx 06-19-07, 04:59 AM Is the HD1 available in the US or only the RS1? In the USA the RS1 is pushed through the JVC Pro dealer channel and the HD1 through the JVC Consumer dealer channel. In the rest of the world the RS1 does not exist. In Europe both JVC Pro and JVC Consumer dealers sell the HD1. However, the Pro dealers only offer a 1 year warranty compared to 3 years (1 Year/1000 hour lamp) offered by the consumer dealer. Dazzer NeoFotis 06-19-07, 12:52 PM a question was asked in one of the other threads listed by rboster regarding if you purchase the rs1/hd1 off the net and voiding of warranty, is there any truth to that? |
