Hi - I just signed up for Comcast and HD DVR service after years on DirectTV and both TiVo and DirectTV DVR. When I turned on the 8300HD, I couldn't believe how far "behind" it was - the guide is huge and ugly, etc.

I can probably live with the terrible UI, but here are the three things I don't see and am missing:

1. Search for title - do I really have to browse through every show by initial letter, but only for a day? I'm trying to figure out when my shows premiere - do I really have to search each day or look on the internet?

2. Season pass list - how am I supposed to sort out conflicts?

3. No "first run only" option? The manual has this listed, but I don't see it on my screen.

FYI, I am in Morgantown, WV, an old Adelphia setup. Is it possible that the problem is local and they will push out changes?

You must be on SARA. Passport is better for the features you listed. You can go plunk down the bucks for an S3 Tivo or wait until Comcast rolls out their Tivo software on their DVRs.
