Circuit City (http://entertainment.circuitcity.com/Music/TopSellers.aspx?media=8) has a decent selection of dvd-a, sacd and dualdisc. Some are very good prices.
5point1.com (http://www.5point1.com/index2.html) has a good selection with some hard to find discs, but you'll pay a bit more for them.
CD Universe (http://www.cduniverse.com/) is ok, some decent prices.
Of course you can find some good deals on Amazon, but searching for the titles can be tricky.

CDwow.com

Great prices, but have always felt skittish about having the items ship overseas from Hong Kong (I think that's where they came from). Have never had a problem though (maybe 4 purchases).

Hi, just looking for some recommendations on where the best places to find and purchase SACDs and DVD-A discs. :)

A great site is www.sa-cd.net, and that site has links to where you can buy a particular SACD from a web store. SA-CD.net is the most comprehensive site for information/reviews about old and new SACD releases and is highly recommended.

Strictly eecky bay. Most arrive with stamps bearing Chairman Mao's smile on paper envelopes of a quality that reminds me of my g-father's interbellic correspondence, with busted jewellcases. Now we all know where our fancy SACDs are manufactured.

Interestingly, the sellers have thousands of ratings and claim to be located in Georgia and S. Carolina.

That's very helpful.

I bought some SACDs on amazon (or amazon marketplace) but their internal search engine sometimes can't find SACD stuff and sometimes the SACD disc is burried among 30 other similar discs. Googling a title using site:amazon(dot)com seems much more reliable.
I found some great deals on UK versions of Depeche Mode deluxe remasters(SACD/DVD) on cd-wow(dot)com for about $15 including free shipping to the USA (with some rebates). Those imports goes around 25-30 on ebay or amazon.

Many (most?) new SACDs are registered at www.sa-cd.net so it might be easier to search there. sa-cd.net has cooporation with amazon, so often there are links for a specific SACD to amazon.

Don't know if you guys have any Borders Books out there, but I picked up a bunch of SACD's and DVD-A's during a "buy three get one free" sale a month or so back. I was certainly surprised to see so many in-store, YMMV.

If you want truly fantastic sounding DVD-A's, try AIX Records (http://www.aixrecords.com/). I have a bunch of their classical and jazz stuff, and it all sounds amazing, and has multiple mixes/encodes on every disc.

That's about all I have to add, i use many of the sites the previous posters have mentioned. Good luck. :D

Telarc has a few (30 or 40, maybe?) on their site for pretty nice prices (sacd's). I just bought one of their recordings (although not from their site) that I really like. It's Rory Block's "Last Fair Deal". It has really grown on me. I like it quite a bit.

I just came from Fry's Electronics, in Burbank, tonight. They have a pretty good SACD and DVD-A selection. I was surprised. A good wide range of stuff (ie. jazz, rock, pop, classical).

I quickly ran up a $213.00 bill, but I came out with quite a grab (like 14 SACD titles).

I was able to get a few classic Aerosmith titles ("Just Push Play", "Toy's In The Attic"), also Cyndi Lauper's "She's So Unusual", some Miles Davis titles ("Live At Filmore East", "Big Fun", "Sketches Of Spain"), Tower Of Power's "Live- Soul Vaccination", Celine Dion "A New Day Has Come", Spyro Gyra, and more.

I will defintely be going back in there. I did'nt even get a chance to look at the DVD-A selection.

This was my first time ever shopping at Fry's, I had never been inside any of their stores. The Burbank store is definitely unique, I guess due to it's movie/TV industry location? It's architecture is from another era (space-ship prop crashed into the front of the store, it reminds me of something from the Jetson's, or the 50's or 60's). The other store locations I've driven pass were just regular modern, no big-deal, large square footage building.

be careful here - caiman (an Amazon seller) bought the rights to the Tower name.

They are a drop shipper who charges your CC when you order, not whenever they ship.

I got several from BMG Music Service. http://www.bmgmusic.com
It's a music club that don't offer a wide selection but they have most of the Elton John and Bob Dylon sacd's. They also have some Eric Clapton , Kinks and various classicals. I just picked up 6 sacd's for $35 including shipping.

www.arkivmusic.com- ArkivMusic carries a large selection of classical SACDs, well over 1,000 at this point- though even they can't always get everything. Gramophone (the British classical music magazine) reviewed an SACD recording of Zemlinsky's Lyric Symphony last year (Eschenbach, Orchestre de Paris on the Capriccio label); being unavailable here, I had to order it from Amazon.com UK. Takes a little longer- about 2 weeks for the Zemlinsky disc- but sure beats not getting it at all! Also, some classical labels- notably Bis and Ondine- release their discs in Europe first, then the U.S.; so if you're in a hurry for an upcoming release already out in Europe, Amazon.com UK is a good bet. -------------------------------------------------------------------Shop smart: Shop S-mart. I think you have to be careful here as to which ones are really multi-channel if you have a six or seven speaker system. There is a lot of sacd out there that is NOT discrete 5- 6 speaker if you want this.

I have to say www.acousticsounds.com has just about everything put out on SACD and DVDA and I have had wonderful customer service. I placed an order at 3pm one day and it arrived the next afternoon. Granted I only lived 200 miles away but I have never had that happen before. One SACD had a cracked jewel case (not their fault it was hidden by the packaging) and they sent a replacement out the same day I called.

Also, http://www.classicstoday.com/search.asp works directly with ArkivMusic for classical music reviews. Cross reference with sa-cd.net and you are pretty much set.
