*the stratacaster controller will have ten frets. 5 normal ones and 5 located near the bottom of the neck for the solo sections(this will be for hammer ons and pull offs only). The x-plorer will still work but the solos may be harder sinc eyou won't have the solo buttons.
*the vocals will be measured for correct pronouciation. This as to do with teh combo meter and ultimately getting a star power like state going.
*the drum controiler will have two hieghts for the stand and can be mounted on a table. It will be 4 pads(snare, and the otehr three misc but likely toms and cymbals) and one kick pad(was hoping for a double kick pad personally). The controller will ship with real wood drumsticks. Hard and expert are supposed to be exact recreations of teh drum patterns.
*fret boards will be slightly transparent since teh screen is full for full 4 player gameplay. Guitar and bass on the left and right, vocals on the top and drums down the middle.
*4 master tracks annouced see article
more in there.

Mindwarper 06-15-07, 12:41 PM How much will the four controllers cost and when is it going to be released?

They're shooting for a early fall release no word on prices other than pure speculation by EB.
JuiceRocket 06-15-07, 01:03 PM I can't wait for this. I used to be in a band, and all of my old bandmates have a 360. We're all in different locations, SoCal, Virginia, Connecticut, Boston. We're ready for this to come out now so we can play together across the nation! :)

Will it support forming a "band" like that over Xbox live?? Can you play 4 vs. 4, aka 2 bands head to head? If so instead of individual leaderboards you could have ladders and tournaments like other "team" games. Man, that would be INSANELY fun.

In a way, yes. You can do a 4 man co-op, but I don't see anything about a versus. You can each choose your instruments look and avatars as well.
They do say in the article that they you can share "triumphs" around the world, but they don't have details. That could be anything from achievements to scores I'm guessing.
This would be a great game for the live webcam. ;)
Here is some of the quotes from that article.
--------------------------------------------------------
- One disk with 4 separate campaigns. Guitar, Drum, Bass and Vocal. Each can be played on its own from start to finish, in addition, a full band game is designed to allow for one huge co-op playthrough.
- Will feature full support for four player online play on both 360 and PS3. Any combination of on/offline play will work and each player can pick their own difficulty setting.
- Flexible community system will allow you to find bandmates anywhere in the world
- There will be a way for you to share your band's triumphs with the world, but the details are still under wraps.
jasonstiller 06-15-07, 01:54 PM Fan-F'ing TASTIC! I absolutley CANNOT wait for this!!!!
the red worm 06-15-07, 02:52 PM I wish they hadn't changed the guitar, I don't wanna buy another guitar controller.
benjamin-benjami 06-15-07, 03:00 PM what tracks were announced???? i am surf controlled from work???
More info right here on AVS. I feel your pain about work internet. I can't post the link since I'm a n00b, but look in the Playstation area under Home Theater Gaming and you'll see a thread called Rockband: leaked info.
Thrillhouse17 06-15-07, 04:05 PM I'm so pissed that they're changing the guitar controller. With GH3 coming out, having its own wireless guitar, there are way too many guitar controllers out there. That sucks hard.

both the new GH3 controller and xplorer will work fine they just won't have the effects knob or solo buttons.
Thrillhouse17 06-15-07, 05:01 PM Yeah, which is a huge difference. Plus according to the article "You won't be able to hammer on/off during solos without the extra buttons". Can I get a collective 'WTF' please?
jasonstiller 06-15-07, 05:08 PM No kidding. They just want us to spend spend spend!
JuiceRocket 06-15-07, 06:08 PM I guess I'm the minority that is happy there's a new controller. I've never been a fan of the GH controller. I'm hoping this one is a tad more "realistic", especially with the "strumming" area.
It's a bummer they don't all work together, but since it's through each company, I can see why they're selling their own hardware around their own game.

jasonstiller 06-15-07, 07:24 PM Well its just a bummer cash wise. It just seems like with every iteration of GH that there will be a new controller. What am i gonna do with my old controllers?! DOH
randy5554 06-15-07, 08:32 PM I hope I will be able to enjoy GH3 after playing this crazy-awesome game!
Hopefully you can just buy the rock band guitar and only get the GH3 game itself, using the rock band guitar to play it. That's probably wishful thinking, but it would be a service to the customer for sure.
