We're trying to set up a presentation room here at the office. I've got a 35ft component cable running into the projector. For some reason, there is no red in the picture once the DVD starts playing. The color is correct in the player's setup menus. Previously, it was working fine using S-video, but be couldn't get an appropriately sized cable. Are the player's component outputs borked or is the cable run too long?
Try swapping the blue and red cables and see if anything changes.

that length is not too long if it's good cable. And it doesn't sound like the cable is at fault since red gets through fine on the menus.

The red cable is not making proper contact , check the red connection

Thanks for the insight guys. We determined it to be the player. We're using a monoprice premium cable, and it works fine on an old Integra player I brought from home. We tried the old player on a standard 6ft cable and it was bad there too. Oh well, the player was garbage anyway. I don't think the boss will be thrilled about having to spend more money though.
