Hi Guys,

I need your help about music system. In my new house, the family room is about 20"*25" with very light furniture and tile floor. It is pre-wired for surround sound speaker. I'm not a big fan of music and have very simple basic need of music system for TV and standadard DVD player. No one from family play computer games. We do occassional party and at that time, we might use full power of system. Most of my video inputs are Standard or 720 p. My TV is 1080i or 720 p. I need a music system with receiver that needs my need under $1500.00. Also, I would prefer it to be from Standard Company (HK, Bose, Onkyo, JBL) etc. I would like my speakers to be flush mounted rather than on wall.

I also need to put one music system in my 22"*15" Media room with carpeted floor and not much furniture. Again, it is only for occassional use. Media room is also pre-wired for surround sound.

Some questions are:

1. I bought new Harman Kardon CP 45 system with HDMI capability for $880. It comes with AVR 245 (high-current amplification and HDMI™ switching). It comes with HKTS 15 speakers. I later realized that speaker can not be flush mounted and AVR245 does not do upconversion and automatic switching. Is that a big deal? Is that a good price/configuration for my need ? I still have 4 days to return item for full refund.

2. Alternatively I was thinking about buying 4 pairs of RC 80i ($149 each pair) and then buying AVR, Center Channel and Subwoofer separately. Is that good idea ?

3. Please tell me best possible configuration. If I end up using your configuration, I voluntarily would like to give you some renumeration. I'm really dumb at this stuff and dont know much about any of this AV system.

Thanks

You might have more luck in one of the audio forums. This forum is targetted at people building home theater rooms (construction, wall treatments, stages, screens, etc.)

Bose is total crap. as you will see if you visit the speaker forum. If you are looking for inwalls you are going to be somewhat limited.
