I own a DVDO HD+ and considering the upgrade toa VP50 what other manufactures should I consider ? What is considered the premier video scaler out their today ?

That is indeed hard to say since there are so many out there it is hard to determine,
now since you do have a DVDO then consider getting the upgrade to a vp30 or 50
remember the ball is in your court and only you can descern what looks good.

Simple the next one 'they' will release. It will have all the features we want now (not the ones we want when they release is, we will have a whole new set of demands). But ofcourse we will first have to go and wait until its announced and then the delays and then the first buggy releases .....

PS: i own a vp50 myself but there are several great products just read the forum pointing to a 'best' is almost impossible.

It would seem no one has any great beef with the VP 50 (I have not been flamed) and no one seems to want to suggest a superior alternative.
Am I missing something or should I just order away??....

I have an extron scaler DVS 304 that works very well and I was able to find it at a discount price, A friend of mine has a DVDO vp30 and we compared the two and they both looked very good and identical in every detail.
So shop around you might find the right price without alot of effort.
As for lumagen they are good scalers but I have been reading about the bugs they have but I guess one is as good as others and everything breaks down , so take your time and shop around...

Well that kind of proofs our/my point it all depends on what you need the scaler you posted is analog mostly the vp30/vp50 have 4 or 5 digital video inputs and a digital output.

So he should think about what he wants to fix and how todo it and at what prize.
