Just a quick question...wondering which player will perform better for audio purposes only. I know that neither player supports HDCD, but both play DVD-A and SACD. I'm looking for something inexpensive and flexible for a 2-channel no-sub system, so sheer audio performance is all that matters.
Thanks in advance,
J.
Look for the 2900 (better than both). These are all old players, so all should be buyable at a good price.

Bill-
Thanks for the reply. I actually already have both players, in addition to the 3910 in our main room, so it's not a matter of buying one or the other. I have the 2200 here, but my brother has the Pioneer in DC, and I don't really want to have him ship it up here to do a comparison. I know that the Pioneer is a solid performer when it comes to audio...I was very happy with it before replacing it with my 3910. I haven't had any time to listen to the 2200, and I'm just wondering if there's one player that's regarded as superior to the other when it comes to audio. If the Pioneer is a better player, I'll just trade it out with my brother.
Thanks again!
Jason
