My Dwin HD-700s been down for awhile. No fun.

I decided to buy a second HDTV to use for my home theater, the Sharp Aquos LC-C3242U, a 32" one.

I've never used the Lumagen DVI output before. I am now.

The "Outsel" in the menu correctly shows the input scan rates and the analog output scan rates that I have long since set. E.G, 1080i input outputs at 1080i,
720p input outputs at 720p, and 480i input outputs at 720. Again, the forgoing is the analog output.

But now that I am using the DVI output, to the HDMI of the Sharp, the Outsels show only 480, not the output rate that I set using the analog RGB H/V Sync outs to my Dwin CRT projector.

With a 1080i input, I tried setting the output vertical resolution from the 480p shown (I assume if I was using analog output it would show 1080i) to 1080i, but when I do this, I get no picture and the Sharp says its receiving an incompatible video signal. Then I turn off and back on the Lumagen and I get the VRES of 480p back and a picture. What's funny though is next I set the VRES to 720p and the Lumagen stays set at 720p and my HD picture is fine. I can also set VRES to 768p and all is fine.

Can anyone explain to me what the heck is going on???

It sounds to me like the TV doesn't accept 1080i via DVI input.
