I recently purchased an Onkyo 805 and want to upconvert my NES and Sega Genesis over HDMI. Unfortunately, the composite connection produces a very messed up screen w/ both systems.

when i run the systems directly into my dlp tv they work OK.

I called onkyo and they said buying a composite video booster/amplifier would solve the problem. i checked radioshack, they dont have them. any thoughts/suggestions?

Is it perhaps because they both output 240p and the Onkyo can't handle it?

i thought the same but my N64 works fine via composite - no issues w/ the upconversion. thats the same rez as the nes/genesis no?
