View Full Version : Any recommendations for HT seatings? gooomz 06-16-07, 05:32 PM Looking for great comfortable HT seating? Any brands you can suggest? johnnykretentiv 06-16-07, 06:15 PM What's your budget? Coaster Showtimes are very reasonable and are quite comfy. Berklines area also well liked here on the forum as a good value. If you have money burn there are many choices. http://www.elitehts.com/home.htm I have been told these guys have issues with customer service but the seats sure look cool!! gooomz 06-16-07, 07:32 PM thanks man. the elite chairs looks great johnnykretentiv 06-16-07, 10:12 PM big bucks $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ gooomz 06-16-07, 11:00 PM about how much do the elite chairs cost? 2k per chair? McCall 06-16-07, 11:14 PM You can get some great theater seats right here through members of the forum. Mike K25 06-17-07, 01:16 AM What about the Lay-Z-Boy Home Theather Seats? I did a search but didn't come up with much. Did Lay-Z-Boy just come out with this line and nobody has tried them yet or are they junk? Everyone talks great about the Berkline seats. http://www.la-z-boy.com/ourfurniture/collections/home_theater.aspx gooomz 06-17-07, 01:31 AM where can i get seats on this forum, and can i find used Elite HTS seats on the forum? McCall 06-17-07, 10:16 AM Best source for good used theater seats is seatsandchairs.com but that is for MOVIE theater style seating. they sell various longe type seating too but not used. hoko222 06-17-07, 10:18 AM i just bought the lazy boy home theater seats row of 4. should recieve them in 4-8 weeks. tried them in the store and they are really nice, great leather too johnnykretentiv 06-17-07, 10:29 AM I would think it will very tough to find used elite seats anywhere. Check out SandmanX's HT build he has some really cool chairs. They are Berklines. Here's a pic http://loutrixrecords.com/images/theater-pix/Chairs-Revised.jpg Here's a link to the thread (http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=574704) AnthemAVM 06-17-07, 11:51 AM i just bought the lazy boy home theater seats row of 4. should recieve them in 4-8 weeks. tried them in the store and they are really nice, great leather too What was the pricing like? BIGmouthinDC 06-17-07, 12:03 PM I'm very happy with berklines They have a style, color and leather/fabric for just about everyone. Just be sure to buy from the guys recommended here and not get ripped off by a local store. They come shipped to you direct form the plant in Tennessee. sdlehman 06-17-07, 02:50 PM where can i get seats on this forum, and can i find used Elite HTS seats on the forum? http://leather-direct.com/ I just received Berklines from this company. Very nice! They are a forum sponsor. Stace BIGmouthinDC 06-17-07, 03:28 PM I also used leather-direct. Good price. I wasn't aware they were a sponsor. Others have used Roman (RSH) and he frequently answers questions and trouble shoots for forum members. I would get a bid from both and decide. http://www.rtheaters.com/specials/ Be aware that there are different grade leathers and fabrics and they do have different price points. From time to time berkline will have a special going on particular models and grade of leather. A way to save money is to get the "leather match" which basically has leather on the places you touch and a matching vinyl on other surfaces (like the back and side panels) Looking at the chair you can't really tell. Most people who spend the money for the electric recline are glad they did because of the infinitely variable recline positions offered. CCDAstro 06-17-07, 03:58 PM 'm very happy with berklines They have a style, color and leather/fabric for just about everyone. Just be sure to buy from the guys recommended here and not get ripped off by a local store. They come shipped to you direct form the plant in Tennessee. The only complaint I have with the Berklines is that screws tend to come loose. I have had 3 for about 5 years and you need to flip them over every 6 months or so and tighten any loose screws. Not a big deal given the relatively low cost. I have 7 leather Berklines en route to me as we speak. I agree with the sentiment of DO NOT BUY LOCALLY! I priced mine in Leather/Vinyl locally and then in ALL LEATHER with Roman. The savings was almost enogh to buy my JVC RS1 projector! Needless to say, I called to local retailer and informed them in no uncertain terms what I thought of their pricing! On the electric recline, I tried one in the store and the problem with them, IMHO, is that it takes too long to go up and down. I am not that patient and am very happy with the seating positions on my manual ones. Clearly this needs to be tried to know what you like. Oddly, Roman just called and somehow a mistake was made and they turn out to be power recline so I hope I get used to them. He was very nice about it. They are due today so we shall see. cubesys 06-17-07, 06:42 PM I bought my berklines locally after I priced online and had them price match. From the looks and comments that many local places gave me, you would have thought I took their first born, rather than give them thousands of dollars in business. You can find local dealers to be very aggressive with pricing, but most suck! I had a price differentail of over $3000 for $4100 of seats.
