I´m wondering how do you calibrate the xbox 360 display?
For dvd, br, etc i use DVE and AVIA, but with the xbox 360 these dvds are pointless because they use different palette colors.
So my question is, what is your way to calibrate consoles or in this case the xbox 360 ?
thanks

I calibrated mine via the DVD player function.
Then I played some WMV color scales off a thumb-drive.
Minimal difference.
After that, its pure eyeball and taste.
I'd love to hear of an alternative (although I'm not sure anything I could do would make it look better that it does already) beyond the promised calibration routines that are promised for the Halo 3 disk.

You can download Live 06 off the XBL marketplace and head into the video settings for a color display patter and adjust your display accordingly. DVE & Avia leaves my display too dark for games but Live 06 hit it right on the spot.

with Live 06 you mean NBA live 06 ?
My experience with games is that they only have brigthness calibration, how about color, sharpness, contrast, etc ?
Maybe i should download a good HD WM trailer and try to make the display as accuarate as posible with my pc display (wich i know is very close to calibrated).
Any idea wich HD WM should i use? i need a trailer with RED colors, dark scenes with tons of different black levels and a very bright scene... like a sky or clouds, etc..
any recommendation?

Right, I meant NBA Live 06. I had a few color filters around so I used that. The adjustment of black levels was my call so I made sure I could distinguish between all of them and not just have them fade in the background. The contrast I adjusted just enough so it doesn't fry my eyes and the sharpness setting I adjusted on the X360 dashboard. Just enough to have text legible but not so much that you notice the slightest bit of edge enhancement.
This worked really well for both my DLP (Component) & LCD (VGA) setups.

I tried the NBALIVE06 demo and when I finally got to the video settings screen (it locked up a couple times; weird, first time any 360 game or demo's done that to me) it poduced a very nice calibration screen with color bars, contrast scales, etc. It was nice to see my settings were pinpoint.
As for WMV HD trailers, one of the better sources of 360 eye candy I've found is:

King Kong is great.
Riddick has lots of blacks.
Seabiscuit has lush greens and reds.
And Phantom of the Opera is just dazzling.
Have fun.

Don't know if anyone is aware but I read one of the discs in the Halo 3 package includes a calibration tool of sorts for audio & video. I may have to rent the darn thing after all.

I paid a guy to come. Its not that easy to do with a disc. If you want it perfect it is very hard to do with just our own eyes.

How much did that run you?

$350. But it was worth it and I will do it with my next tv too. Such a diffrence its more then just the color and stuff. This guy hooked my tv up like a hospital patient to set it up
