Don't buy Monster, Monoprice cables are just as good at a fraction of the cost.
I have monster cables, bought them used on ebay for about 20bux. They are an definite improvement in sharpness and color.

For $20 Monster is great but by no means are they worth what Monster charges for them. What are you comparing them to btw?
mrkrispy 06-18-07, 11:57 AM what's wrong with the component cables that come with the 360?
NoThru22 06-18-07, 12:02 PM They don't use enough buzz words and flashy packaging.

nothing wrong with it, better cables give you a nicer picture.

If you want to move your 360 from room to room, it's easier to leave the cable plugged into the TV and simply move the system instead of moving TVs, or receivers, to unplug the cables.

Please, let's not start this whole debate up again.
The cables that come with the Xbox 360 Premium are quite capable.

when did i ever say they weren't capable. I was stating there is a noticeable upgrade with monster cables and simply asked if these new monoprice ones are similar quality upgrade to the monsters.
alucard_x 06-18-07, 01:29 PM for 360: this is useful for Core owners, that's it.

I didn't notice an upgrade with the monster cables. I got mine cheapy style off ebay too. I only got mine because my cat ate my other ones. Anyways good to see Monoprice diversifying. I like their stuff.

what size tv do you have?? Better connections show more improvement with bigger screens. Mine is a 60inch SXRD and the colors are better saturated and there is sharper details to the picture with less noise.
Slordak 06-18-07, 02:23 PM God. This is just like all those speaker cable threads, where a handful of people report that the "sound stage really opened up" when they swapped out their $10 speaker cable for a $200 cable.
It's easy to justify this after the fact, i.e. convince yourself that there is an improvement. I suspect that with a blind A-B test, one would see little if any actual difference (on any display).
there wouldn't be much difference with HDMI/toslink cables since they are both digital, but analog signals are very suspectable to degration and noise. Don't like it? Don't understand why one would feel to talk down something they have ZERO experience with and talk like an engineer or a professional with only hearsay information.
mrkrispy 06-18-07, 02:57 PM so the Microsoft component cables have previously been dissected and found to be of inferior quality?
OEM cables are good quality cables, like everything in life there is something better for willing to pay extra. Is the PQ upgrade is worth the money?? thats all subjective and why there is a return policy. I however paid 20bux for mine used but gladly pay 50bux new for them for the performance, for less then price of a game, have an upgrade I can use for my HD-dvd and games. With noway to get HDMI with out the Elite360 this was the only upgrade to improve the picture.
ProjectEF 06-18-07, 03:39 PM There are cheap and expensive cables, and then there are cheap and expensive cables. Don't judge a products quality by the price it costs you to get it, but don't think that everything is created equal either.

Same with me, my Monster, and my 55" SXRD...
Saleen4971 06-18-07, 05:58 PM i dont see why everybody is arguing over monster vs. monoprice vs. MS cables.
they ALL work. they ALL send a 1080P signal.
core system users might wants a component cable. and people who move their 360 might want to get some extras without spending the $$$ for an MS or monster set.
