View Full Version : Where to see the RS1 in these cities?
skoolpsyk 06-17-07, 01:46 PM I'm about to leave on vacation and figured while I am in various cities I would like to visit some home theater stores that have the RS1 set up. This will be a good way to see many different screen types and sizes and also since my wife will be with me, to sell her on the FP idea as well!
We will be in the following cities on our trip:
Anaheim CA
Las Vegas, NV
Portland, OR
Seattle, WA
Thanks!
Prakash 06-18-07, 10:10 AM Yes, please help me too. I live in Victoria, BC and am visiting Seattle, WA and would like to know where to pick up a HD1/RS1 for the best price close to the border.
skoolpsyk 06-18-07, 11:54 AM I'm wondering, did most of you buy yours sight unseen?
Prakash 06-18-07, 12:57 PM I bought my first projector (NEC HT1000) sight unseen 4 years ago. Thanks to all the great reviews here at this site and also Projector Central. Looks like I will be doing the same again with the RS1.
gpshumway 06-18-07, 02:47 PM Your city may be on JVC's High Def Tour, coming to many cities around the country. The HD-1 will be featured.
Check out the website http://www.jvchdtour.com/
skoolpsyk 06-18-07, 02:53 PM doesn't look like I'll be near any of those places at those times. thanks though!
Uatatoka 06-18-07, 04:17 PM I saw it HERE (http://www.magnoliahifi.com/stores/storedetails.asp?id=17) in Seattle.

Prakash 06-18-07, 04:46 PM Thanks Mike. I just called them and if you mention the Visual Apex price, they will match it. Can't give out any prices here but if you do the research, you can get a pretty good price. They have one in stock right now.
WOLVERNOLE 06-19-07, 06:40 AM I saw it HERE (http://www.magnoliahifi.com/stores/storedetails.asp?id=17) in Seattle.

Hmmm...so Magnolia is carrying it in Seattle ??? Maybe there is hope for the east coast with Magnolia. I would like to see this unit.
If you don't find a store in the Portland area, I don't mind having you over at my place to take a look at the RS1 and my home theater setup. I live in Beaverton (close to Portland). I have plenty of standard and hi-def content to choose from... just click on the link on my sig.
Yes, I did buy the RS1 sight unseen... and I'm not regretting it! :D

wow, thanks mehdi! Our vacation plans are so erratic I can't really pin down what times we will be where yet. But as we get closer to the date I just may be in touch!

You may not be missing much! I just got back from a Magnolia home theater store in Woodland Hills, CA. I asked if they have the JVC RS1, because I had heard that another store had one on display.
The sales guy said, "it must have been a Best Buy, because we only sell high end here; we don't sell JVC".
I said well it's not exactly cheap, it goes for almost 7 grand!
He asked what the technology was.
I said HD-ILA.
He said, "oh, it's I-D-L-A" (yes, he was correcting me!). then he says, "that is an LCOS technology and we're not too keen on that".
I said "What?!?!"
He said, "yes, there are too many problems with LCOS technology".
I then lost it and said a bunch of things I probably shouldn't have and walked out.
Steve Goff 06-20-07, 07:17 PM Some of the Magnolia stores are carrying the HD1 (not the RS1). I saw one at the Roosevelt store in Seattle.
