Hey guys,
I just called XBOX Canada and placed a repair ticket to have the ROM Drive fixed as I was getting Unreadable errors on all my games.

The rep that I spoke to said they will ship me a box to send back my unit.
Plus once I get the unit back it will come with a 1 year warranty. Which makes me happy... Plus I can buy 1 or 2 more years for very little money...

But I want to know is how long does it normally take to get the unit back from MS? Am I looking at Months? or is the turn around pretty quick?

The price was alittle on the high side but it turned out be much cheaper than buying a new unit.. So it works out in the end.

The MS rep said that the usual time is 24-48 hours after they recieve your Xbox to repair it and ship it back. That is usualy how it happens, I had a friend who shipped his console off on Wed and got it back the next Tuesday. I shipped my on Tuesday and it will be 2 full weeks till I have it back. So it depends is the answer.

I've found that most of the time spent on a 360 repair is in shipping. Three days to get the first box to you, three days to get it down to the repair center, one to two days to put a replacement unit in the box, and three days in shipping back.

I think they've been slow getting the boxes out lately. For me it took over a week to get the box (9 or 10 days). It's been 15 days now and I still haven't gotten it back.

This was my experience. I just wished if you have a microsoft extended warranty, that they would just send you a new one/refurb with the box like Direct TV or Dish Network does.
