We are selling our house with a dedicated theater (18' x 15'). I spent the weekend looking at new houses. The best size room I could find in new construction was 20' x 13.5'

Which brings the question. What size is your dedicated theater? Include screen size.

Thanks.

Keep em coming. I especially like those with links to photos. I may have to expand my search to existing homes. These new ones make me cry. No thought given to people who watch TV.

Hey Utah, he was talking width -- not depth! :) Or is your 25-feet wide by 28-feet deep!?

My humble theater is 12.5 x 20.5 .... hope it works!

I guess turning one of my 13 x 13 x 9 feet bedroom into a home theater is possible after all. I also find that small rooms tend to be very cozy for movie watching.

Mine is not yet built (remodeling the rest of the house first), but the room it will be in is 24x16x8 to the concrete walls, I will probably lose a foot in length and width when built.

It is a pretty good size room.

I am planning a 118" 16x9 screen, with seating a 10 and 15 feet, and maybe a bar area in the back

Those of you with square rooms, just remember that they are bad for your acoustics and you will need to do more to try to improve that.
