Quick question regarding installing a projector. I have been reading through a lot of post lately and I have noticed that a lot of people run RGB cables or component cables to their projector. Is there a reasoning why more people are not running HDMI cables from their projector to their equip. rack other then cost?
Thanks,
Neil

I guess it all depends on what you are connecting to the projector.
For me, the cable box will be HDMI......DVD is DVI. Also, I have a regular xbox connected via component cables and a laser disk player connected via s-video.
People will also have different amps which may or may not handle video switching.

A smart person would run both, as well as conduit and string for possible future upgrades.
I'm running HDMI and component, as those are what my data sources output. I've also got access to run additional cables if I need it.

I run component because I have HDMI connected to my Plasma (about 30ft of HDMI) and it was always coming off just a nuff to make the picture go out for a split second every 30 seconds.. That's the main reason why I did..
I ended up fixing it by putting alittle **** on the connector so it would stay put..
