The JBL Venue Series SUB10 10-Inch 250-Watt Subwoofer can be purchased through Amazon at a ridiculously low price. Enter the sub's name in Amazon's search.

I have no idea how this sub sounds, but at the price they are selling it for, it can't be a bad buy.

Not bad, but I think most people will tell you to spend the extra money on a Bic-100 or x-sub, both @ $200.

Thanks, but I personally have no interest in any bargain subs. I only posted that in case anyone on a tight budget was looking for a starter sub for a really cheap price.

Well, in that case, I'd tell those people to find an extra $50. I love JBL speaks for the most part, but their home subs tend to be big stupid animals.

Typically for a sub to be sold as cheap as that one, there is a reason. Let's face it: A really good sub would cost almost as much to ship as that JBL is selling for.

Agreed, though there are diamonds in the rough. The old Athena subs and daytons were examples of that. I got my Athena AS-P300 for $115 shipped.

Seem like a pretty decent starter sub. Just enough to give you a taste of bass and eventually cause you to crave something more substantial.

I’ve heard on of these in a store, and it wasn’t THAT bad with it sitting in front of me at chest level. Hum, not much for a pair… Sterio subs, plus the crazy Swedish thing in the corner (Audio Pro Ace-Bass B2-40). That could be fun. And Bass Shakers under the couch eventually… Hum.

How do you all think a pair of these would do compared to an X-Sub?

Much more thump, much less musical.

Drove put to Best Buy tonight to mess with one and it, to me, sounded really destorted. Even my GF, who thinks Bose sound good, could tell there was something not quite right about it . So, yeah, no go. I like my bass TIGHT and SUB10 does not provide in that area.

my E60's have a -3db at 40hz if I remember correctally, so it's good enough.

...which could explain why they are almost giving them away on Amazon.
