looks sweet as hell. I can't deny my extreme urge to pick this up along with teh drum controller come fall.
celluloideyes 06-19-07, 12:06 PM Awesome guitar! I love the look of those frets--very natural. For some reason, seeing this guitar has just made me become excited for this game (which I wasn't at all really before).
JuiceRocket 06-19-07, 12:10 PM The fret style looks nice!
I only wish they'd change that bizarre (to me at least) strumming lever. It feels so unnatural to me when I try to play GH with friends.

benjamin-benjami 06-19-07, 12:22 PM i cannot wait for this to come out... looks like i am going to be dropping some money in the fall...
Thrillhouse17 06-19-07, 12:50 PM That looks slick, but expensive. I'm worried about the cost.
football76 06-20-07, 10:36 AM I'm going to sell my GH2 setup to help fund this bad boy! This looks awesome!

I heard that the whole package (game, guitar (x2?), drums, mic) will be $199. Not too bad considering all that you're getting.
Everything will be available separately as well, but it'll cost more to buy it all piece by piece.
No doubt, I'm much more excited for this one after seeing that guitar. No more el cheapo GH axe for me!

They have previously said they it would not cost $200. They will try to make it as affordable as possible.

those prices are from EB/Gamestiop harmonix has said repeatedly that until they announce the suggested retail prices and packages everything is hearsay.
maverick0716 06-20-07, 10:54 PM That guitar looks freakin' awesome! I'm not going to get Rockband........but damn I wish I could get that guitar for Guitar Hero.
formulanerd 06-20-07, 11:36 PM damn I wish I could get that guitar for Guitar Hero.
and why cant you?
maverick0716 06-21-07, 12:20 AM and why cant you?
I guess I could........I would think that the small high frets wouldn't be used at all, which kind of sucks.
alinski 06-21-07, 12:38 AM I like the frets closer to the guitar body(?). Should help with arm fatigue.
alinski...
Barnacleez 06-21-07, 12:41 PM Yeah, since the GHII guitar will work with Rock Band, I'd imagine the Rock Band guitar will be functional (at least the five normal frets) for Guitar Hero. They should be using the same triggers for each button in order to make it backwards compatible.
I can't wait for Rock Band myself. As much as I love Guitar Hero, drums are where it is. I'll be getting the game and drum kit (and maybe a guitar, depends how great the new frets are).
They have previously said they it would not cost $200. They will try to make it as affordable as possible.
They'll also try to make as much money off of it as they can - that fine line is what business is all about.
Considering that GH2 on the 360 is $90 for one wireless guitar, I'm guessing that the price for the full rock band kit will be at least $150, and probably closer to $175. But hey, I'd be more than happy to be wrong about that...
Daekwan 06-21-07, 01:31 PM Im probably selling my GH2 setup.. and getting this..
HorrorScope 06-21-07, 07:08 PM After this imo we need real guitars and simply play the tablature, so a more electronic electric guitar is in order. No reason not to just actually learn how to play it for real while having fun. They are mentioning that the drum track is the actual drumtrack in real life for Rock Band, I do believe.

^^^That would be cool, but would also probably be a completely different game with a much more limited audience.
There's a certain type of person that wants to perform music. The people Guitar Hero and Rockband appeal to don't really want to be musicians... they just want to feel like one. These are people that want to pick up the funny controller at a party, push some buttons, have fun and connect with the rock music.
...and then you're hooked. :D

yea, i'm kinda looking forward to "learning the drums" with rock band, i dont think it'll be identical but i think it will be a lot closer than the guitar play.

according to the magazine article leaked it won't be it has snare on the left and the pad likely to be hi hat on the right(their reversed in all drum kits).
formulanerd 06-21-07, 07:52 PM yea, but cant you set it up how you see fit?
