I'm a total newbie, but I was wondering if I could hook up this baby To my Panasonic SA-XR57 without blowing the reciever up, or would that be stupid...I found somebody that would sell me theirs for 200 bucks and thought that if it would work it would be sweet

thanks

It's possible, but you will need a separate amp and because the box is tuned to about 40 hz, you won't get much bass deeper than 40 hz. Not a true sub. I'm sure it will get loud, though.

If what Mike says is true about the 40 hz threshold, forget it. Subs need to be able to go below 40 hz according to the FCC. That is why the Bose sub is called a bass module.
