Tell me if I got this. If I have a 1080p30/60 TV and I want to watch 1080p24 content then I have absolutely, positively no choice but to interlace the 24 frames and copy a few of those frames to 29.97 fps then deinterlace???? Is this why 1080p24 TV's are so important? Tell me I have this all wrong!!!

24 is the rate film is shot at. It is generally played back at 48. Video is shot at 29.97. Up to now, displays have shown video at multiples of 30, which means that film sources have to use 3:2 pulldown to "fix" the extra frames that it would need to be shown at 30X. 99% of the time you can't tell the difference, but 24hz (or multiple) makes it irrelevant.

So in a niutshell, if my TV doesn't support 24 fps, the an HD-DVD or BD-DVD must be interlaced, then deinterlaced to support the missing frames? Or does one have nothing to do with the other?
