so sorry.

Just wondering about the general consensus, is there a dvd settop recorder yet that still provides excellent Image quality like the long gone pioneers had, or better? I don't necessarily care about a hard drive...or any of that, just a good reliable settop recorder that provides outstanding IQ to dvd. don't even care about a tuner..thanks..t

p.s. the only new thing i would like to have on it is ability to record great IQ to Dual layer dvd's, + and/or -.

Probably about the best quality recorder you will be able to find, also one of the less expensive ones, is the Panasonic DMR-EZ17K. It also records to DVD-R, +R, -R DL, + R DL, and both of the RW's (+ & -).

Here is some information about it.
