What to do? my xbox 360 premium has component cables while my HD TV also have component output/input, I noticed it also have DVI. Is there an adapter that I can buy to hook up my component to DVI? How much of a picture difference when using component vs DVI? thanks

Go to monoprice.com and click on adapters. There should be a component to DVI adapter there for cheap. Also, there will be zero PQ difference.

There's probably no difference.. Just stick with Component,..

from what I know of right now there is no actual 360 cable that is DVI. I don't think you would notice that much of a difference in running component vs dvi anyway. However, if you'd really like to try it you can get a component to DVI cable (http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=102&cp_id=10235&cs_id=1023504&p_id=2704&seq=1&format=2&style=) at monoprice and also get a component/rca coupler (http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=104&cp_id=10401&cs_id=1040107&p_id=3002&seq=1&format=2&style=)
Again, don't know if you'll really see a whole lot of difference.

there is no DVI output for the 360.
if you run a component -> DVI adapter (which i'm not sure exists) you'll get the exact same picture, because it's just an adapter.
if you have/get an elite, you could do hdmi -> dvi, BUT you'd be losing the upscaling due to lack of an HDCP handshake, so that's no improvement and will net you the same resolutions as component.

DVI can be HDCP compliant, just like HDMI.

Thanks for all the replies. I'll just stick with component cable if theres not difference in picture. Thanks again.

DVI connections come in three flavors: Digital, Analog and Both:
That is why you can get DVI to VGA adaptors for graphics cards that only have DVI plugs. They are DVI-I (meaning they can pass digital or analog)
Go here for an explanation: http://www.ramelectronics.net/html/DVI_info.html
I run my 360 over component and PS3 over a HDMI -> DVI-D cable, and there is ZERO graphical difference in games. Both are very sharp and look good. Blu Ray movies do look a hair, and I emphasize a HAIR better than my 360's HD-DVD player, but that's really the only noticeable difference. The whole HDMI thing is hype, and the only reason I went that route for my PS3 is so I could upconvert DVDs (and I was out of component ins on my receiver!).
