I like your set-up. Are those Martin-Logan stats?
I am glad you like your HSU VTF-3 MK2, plus Turbo, I have a pair of HSU VTF-3HO's plus Turbos, that I have had for about a year. People shake their heads when I crank the subs up.

Now if you really want to take it to the next level, do near field and far field setups. That is where the "WOW" factor comes in. Check it out on the HSU site.

Far field is your present sub placement. Near field would be as close as possible to your seating position.

I have a huge space to fill, and moved nearfield with my two 12-inch subs, and the improvement in the ability to "feel" the bass was rewarding. I'll never go back if I can help it.

You probably also experience a flatter frequency response nearfield than you would farfield.

cneely8 and JimP know what they are talking about. I can suggest the HSU MBM-12. Nearfield works very well.

well guys..i took your advice and moved the sub "near field" so now it sits behind my seating position..and all i can say is HOLY CRAP. it sounds better...hits way harder and overall makes me much happier. i'm still thinking of adding anothe rsub..but i might make a DIY jobber..maybe an IB? not sure yet. any suggestions???

Generally, its not good to mix subs. You may find that two identical subs will get you closer to achieving a uniform sound quality and that's provided you equalize each one individually, then match sound arrival time, then intergrate properly with mains.

Place your VTF-3 MK2, plus Turbo in far field, and then get the MBM-12 and use it near field. That will blow your socks off!

With two Hsu VTF3 MKII subs in the system, would it be better to place one nearfield and one farfield (with turbo) or leave both farfield and add the MBM12 nearfield?

I bought the VTF3-MK3 plus the turbo just over two months ago. I have the sub running about 30% of the power and it seems plenty for our room (family room that's adjacent to the kitchen both rooms about 15 X 15 with 10' ceiling. I have yet to open the box of turbo since the sub by itself seems more than adequate.

I'm constantly fighting w/ my wife about the bass and that's when it's at 30% on the output dial. I guess the turbo will continue to sit in the garage collecting dust.

I have a VTF-3 1st version ?(with the 250 watt amp) My question is the turbo module compatible with the turbo? If so, is it worth the upgrade?
thanks,

Ask in the Hsu thread and you'll definitely get some feedback.

yes it will fit, however the turbo housing is a little wider than the the sub..so you'll have some overhang. no big deal.

You will hate me for saying this and I am surprised no one else did.

What are your Martin Logans doing crammed in the corners?!
What kind of center is that matched up with them? Cinema Channel might be a thought.

Pull them forward and as much away from the sidewalls as possible without obstructing your view. Address the Center Channel before worrying about an IB. Do you have any sort of Auto-EQ Room Compensation?

Get white speaker wire and of good gauge. Those ML's are 2-4 ohm. Tuck it beneath the paneling. Good you moved the sub nearfield.

I am just a Jeal.. picky guy.

Per HSU Research, you should have your VTF-3.3 placed at the opposite side of the room (Front right corner) with the sub firing into that wall. The effect would be incredible.

I have both my VTF-3.3 with Turbo and my MBM-12 placed next to each other behind my sofa...AMAZING!

You migh also want to look at the MBM-12 placed nearfield.just thought i'd share. wow...this sub REALLY pounds now!!
