We all have our favorites. We can remember what was happening in our lives when we saw them.

Besides the DVD, I have and display some of the following to keep the memory.

1. Original trailers downloaded from the internet and stored on my pc- free

2. Original 35 mm film trailers available on ebay for anywhere from $5 to $50 EACH.

3. Original or replicated lobby card sets, also available for not a lot of money from eBAY

4. Posters available on ebay and everywhere else.

Does anyone have other suggestions?

I also have a classic cartoon collection DVD lined up to show a cartoon after the trailers and right before the main feature. The Warner Bros./Looney Tunes collections are great for hitting the right yesteryear note and are still very funny. I've pre-ordered the upcoming Woody Woodpecker box set collection for this, too.

And don't forget the Hey Folks! It's Intermission Time! DVDs for some classic retro pre-feature/intermission animated countdowns and concession promos you can play quietly before showtime and during intermission.

One of the greatest disappointments in going to the only remaining Drive-In theater in my area recently is that they didn't bother to show any countdown material, no pitches about the tempting treats in the snack bar and no pre-feature cartoon like they did in the old days. The screen was dark before and between features, there was a trailer and then the feature began. They put no effort into it at all.
